Botox vs. Fillers

What's the difference and what's right for you?

At Lumen Injectables, we regularly get asked, “What exactly is the difference between botox and fillers?” And more importantly, “Which treatment best suits my needs?”

We like to explain it clearly for you!

Botox: smoothing wrinkles through muscle relaxation

Botox (in full: botulinum toxin) is used to temporarily relax certain muscles. This fades dynamic wrinkles – these are wrinkles caused by movement, such as frown lines, crow’s feet or forehead wrinkles.

👉 Think of that one frown that gives you a stern look or the fine lines around your eyes when you smile – we tackle those with botox.

The result? A fresher, rested look, without making your facial expression disappear.

Result: visible after a few days, lasts an average of 3 to 4 months

Ideal for: fine lines, frown line, crow’s feet, excessive sweating.

Fillers: restore volume & contour

Fillers, usually hyaluronic acid-based, are used to restore or accentuate volume. Think fuller lips, higher cheekbones or filling in deep wrinkles such as the nasolabial fold.

👉 With fillers, we can restore subtle volume, soften your face or highlight certain features (such as your lips or jawline) just a little extra.

Result: immediately visible, lasts an average of 6 to 12 months.

Ideal for: lips, cheekbones, marionette lines, bags under the eyes, nose-lip fold.

What suits you best?

That depends entirely on what you would like to achieve.

Do you want to soften fine lines and look fresher? Then botox is often the best choice.

Do you want just a little more volume or symmetry? Then fillers are the way to go.

In many cases we combine both treatments for a natural and balanced result. During a no-obligation intake interview, together we look at what best suits your face and wishes.
